York University Postdoctoral Fellow Salman Hussain (Anthropology) has been named as one of this year’s recipients of the prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Banting is valued at $70,000 per year for two years and supports postdoctoral researchers who will positively contribute to the country’s economic, social and research-based growth.

When the novel coronavirus was declared a global pandemic, the York International team worked closely with program leaders and faculty members from across the University to make sure York students were able to return home safely. With the students spread out across 31 countries, the endeavour was a challenging one, but the York community rose to meet that challenge.
