Co-Chairs and members of the Artificial Intelligence and Society Task Force announced

York University Provost and Vice-President Academic Lisa Philipps and Vice-President Research and Innovation (VPRI) Robert Haché are pleased to announce the appointment of Pina D’Agostino, associate professor, Osgoode Hall Law School, and James Elder, professor and York Research Chair in Human and Computer Vision, Lassonde School of Engineering and Faculty of Health as Co-Chairs of York University’s new Artificial Intelligence and Society Task Force.

The AI Task Force will generate recommendations on how to advance York University’s research, scholarship and academic programming in Artificial Intelligence

The task force has a mandate to develop ideas and examine options for building and featuring York University’s research strengths and curricular offerings in Artificial Intelligence and its complex implications for society. The task force will leverage collegial expertise, solicit advice from the University community and generate recommendations on how to advance York’s research, scholarship and academic programming in AI. The goal is to provide the community with a series of high-level recommendations by spring 2019.

The task force members are:
