There will be an electrical service interruption of up to eight hours beginning Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10 p.m. and continuing to Thursday, Sept. 13 at 6 a.m. that will affect the Petrie Science and Engineering Building. Electrical switching and the interruptions are required to supply power from a generator to Petrie, which will allow for Petrie to have electrical service while workers replace the high-voltage transformer. Work will continue around the clock.

Power will be disrupted again when the generator is shut down and the final connections are made to the transformer. Re-energization is expected to take place on Friday, Sept. 14 between 12 and 6 a.m. The generator will be located on the edge of the Campus Walk, near the northwest corner of the Steacie Building.

Every effort will be made to keep the outage as short as possible. Emergency power will not be affected by the shutdown.
