Rob Castle appointed senior executive officer in the Office of VPFA

Gary Brewer, vice-president finance and administration, issued this message to the University community:

As most of you know, Steve Dranitsaris has decided to retire from the University and will be leaving at the end of December. I am writing to announce that Rob Castle has been appointed to the position of senior executive officer in the Office of the Vice-President Finance and Administration. Rob’s appointment will take effect immediately. Steve will continue as special adviser to the vice-president until his departure in December, and will support Rob in the transition into his new role. Steve will also complete a number of specific divisional initiatives on my Robert Castle, senior executive officer, Office of the Vice-President Finance and Administrationbehalf over the next few weeks.

Rob Castle

Rob joined the Office of the Vice-President Finance and Administration in 2010 as senior adviser, policy, operations and communications, following a 20-year tenure as executive director and general manager of the York University Student Centre. Rob’s background is ideally suited for taking on the senior executive officer role, given his significant depth and breadth of understanding of organizational governance as well as the various functional areas within the Finance and Administration Division. He also brings to the role a strong focus on students and student/academic life, as well as experience managing significant budgets, business contracts, business operations and large numbers of employees.

Please join me in welcoming Rob to his new role.
