York University community flips out for pancakes

York Cares 2023 pancake breakfast fundraiser

As the largest supporter of social services in Toronto, the United Way Greater Toronto is dedicated to creating opportunities for people who need to improve their lives and build a better future.

Every year, the York University community engages in the York Cares United Way Campaign to raise much-needed funding for the United Way Greater Toronto. This year’s goal is to raise $150,000.

York University administrators, faculty, deans and the York Cares United Way Campaign team donned smiles, aprons and chef’s hats and had a “flipping” good time on Tuesday, Nov. 21, as they prepared stacks of pancakes for the campaign.

For just $2, students, faculty and staff converged at the Central Square Cafeteria at York’s Keele Campus and enjoyed hot pancakes, berry compote, syrup, whipped cream, coffee and tea, all in support of the United Way Greater Toronto. This year’s pancake breakfast raised $565 and served more than 280 guests.

This event was graciously supported by YU Eats.
