Dear York community,

In August 2020, you received an email to participate in a survey investigating the impacts of COVID-19 on the working arrangements of faculty and staff at York University. Approximately 1,300 people participated in the survey and results were published here on the Global Labour Research Centre website.

You are now invited to participate in the second round of this survey to better understand how those impacts have changed over time.

This survey is part of an international research project aimed at understanding the impacts of work-from-home arrangements on academic, administrative, professional, technical and support staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project is being led by professors from the Centre for Work, Organization and Wellbeing at Griffith University in Australia and more than 12 universities are taking part from Australia and Canada.

At York University, the study is being conducted by Professors Kelly Pike and James Chowhan from the School of Human Resource Management, on behalf of the Global Labour Research Centre, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. This research study has been approved by the Research Ethics Board at York University.

The survey will take between 10 to 15 minutes to complete and questions will focus on work-from-home arrangements and the impact on your work. Your responses will be anonymous and participation is voluntary. To complete this, please go here

When this research is complete, a report will be provided to York which will offer important information about how our community is coping with the unusual work situations brought on by the pandemic.

Thank you for considering participation in this survey and for your time.

Sincerely,

Lisa Philipps
Provost and Vice-President Academic

Lisa Philipps
