The following is a message to the University community from Provost and Vice-President Academic Lisa Philipps:

York University is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation as it continues to escalate globally. Our top priority is supporting the York community through this rapidly evolving situation. There are no presumed or confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our campuses.

All academic programming and other activities are proceeding as scheduled.

At present, the risk in Ontario remains low and we are taking the necessary steps now to be prepared should the COVID-19 situation change dramatically and/or quickly. We have developed a comprehensive plan to ensure that we can complete the academic term in the event that we are required for health and safety reasons to reduce face-to-face classroom instruction.

We will continue to monitor the situation; global and local health agency advisories will inform our ongoing planning.

We will communicate as the situation changes and should there be any change to University activities. Check York University’s Coronavirus Information & Update website regularly.
