Explore Schulich’s cutting-edge research in newly opened facility

Join the Schulich School of Business community for Research Day 2019 on March 28, when York University showcases and celebrates the innovative research and creative achievements of Schulich researchers.

The biennial event, to be held at the newly opened Rob and Cheryl McEwen Graduate Study & Research Building, will include: a thought-provoking panel discussion; a presentation of the prestigious dean’s research awards; a poster gallery showcasing the breadth of research at Schulich; and an open house hosted by Schulich PhD students.

The event culminates with a closing academic excellence reception in honour of the award recipients. Guided architectural tours of the new building will also be available.

This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about Schulich’s research expertise, engage with academics and practitioners from the research community, and celebrate the research excellence at the Schulich School of Business.

Welcome remarks by Dean Dezsö J. Horváth and the presentation of the dean’s research awards will begin at 2 p.m.The panel discussion called “Moving Beyond Pure Profit Maximization: Navigating the Human Side of Business” will run from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and will include the following panel members: Ela Veresiu, assistant professor of marketing; Adam Diamant, assistant professor of operations management; Brent Lyons, assistant professor of organization studies; and Mariam Humayun, PhD candidate, marketing. The discussion will be moderated by Kam Phung, PhD candidate, organization studies.

From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., there will be a faculty poster gallery, a PhD open house, guided tours of the building and refreshments. Closing remarks will take place form 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and will be delivered by Preet Aulakh, associate dean of research, followed by the Academic Excellence Reception.
