York University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is taking digital and content marketing in a groundbreaking new direction.

With the demand for digital and content marketing skills on the rise, the York University School of Continuing Studies is launching an innovative suite of three accelerated digital marketing and content marketing certificate programs. The unique programs include a Certificate in Digital Marketing, a Certificate in Content Marketing and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing.

The Certificate in Digital Marketing and the Certificate in Content Marketing are both six-month, part-time programs, taken mostly online with three valuable face-to-face weekend sessions with other students and instructors.

Ambitious professionals looking to enhance, change or start their careers can now gain the technical and cross-functional skills required for career success, while maintaining work-life balance by studying in a fast and flexible part-time format.

The Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing is a full-time, in-person program designed for recent degree graduates and international students who want a comprehensive education in both areas, from the ground up.

Enrolment is now open for the Certificate in Digital Marketing, with the first session starting in January 2019. Enrolment for the Certificate in Content Marketing and the Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital and Content Marketing will open in the coming months.

Designed in collaboration with marketing industry influencers from top brands, these programs will not only teach students the technical skills they need to succeed, but will also provide opportunities to build real-world experience by working on projects with actual companies. This innovative approach to experiential learning is key to building the core skills needed to excel in the workplace after graduation.

“In today’s digital marketing landscape, making noise is easy,” said Jill Borra, senior director, content strategy at RBC and Advisory Council member for the York University School of Continuing Studies. “The decisions we make need to be analytical and driven by deep data insight. York’s digital marketing and content marketing certificate programs will prepare students to make valuable contributions to marketing strategies within organizations across industry lines.”

The York University SCS takes a drastically different approach to continuing education, offering students an accelerated and flexible learning experience that emphasizes the broader job skills that employers are actively seeking in new hires. This focus on student-centric program design is sure to have a lasting impact on the next generation of certified digital marketing professionals.

“Our programs are designed with top industry employers to fill identified job market gaps, so students develop, refine and polish the skills they need to get hired and promoted,” said Tracey Taylor-O’Reilly, assistant vice-president, Continuing Studies. “We are proud of the significant successes our graduates have had in achieving their career goals, faster than they would have thought possible.”
