York University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) will launch two new certificate programs this year, and is hosting a free event April 18 in support of the expanded programming.

The School of Continuing Studies: Tech and Data Program Information Night will feature top technology and data professionals to answer questions about new certificate programs in Machine Learning and Full Stack Web Development. The expanded programming comes as a response to growing employer demand for qualified technology and data professionals with cross-functional skills.

The information event supports these new programs, as well as SCS’s existing certificates in Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Risk Management. Taking place at the Toronto Reference Library: Beeton Hall, the event offers guests the chance to hear from top professionals in technology and data, ask questions and network with like-minded peers.

The SCS team will also be on hand to speak to the school’s evolving suite of certificate programs, which are designed to be on-trend with the hiring needs of industry-leading companies across the country.

“It’s not enough for students to hear us talk about how continuing education can enhance their careers,” said Christine Brooks-Cappadocia, director, Continuing Professional Education, School of Continuing Studies. “They need to hear it from the professionals who are actually hiring and leading the growth in their field of interest. This event gives them this unique opportunity in a highly accessible and engaging format.”
