The following is a message to the University community from Jeff O’Hagan, vice-president of advancement:
Today, on Giving Tuesday, as generous individuals across the country choose to support causes close to their hearts, we are inviting the York University community to make an impact for future generations of students.
For York U students, donor support can mean the world. Thanks to thousands of donors including faculty, staff, alumni and students, York University is developing opportunities that transform the student experience through a focus on its key pillars of access, connectedness, excellence and impact. The need for support is more urgent today than ever before and Giving Tuesday offers a chance to change students’ lives for the better.
As a member of the University community, you play a vital role in helping York University take advantage of the many possibilities that lie ahead of us. Each of the initiatives below addresses specific areas within University where your donation can make a difference and help prepare students meet the challenges of a changing, global landscape.
- York University Fund – supports the University’s area of greatest need (including student financial aid, learning spaces, academic programs, internship and research opportunities).
- Glendon Alumni Fund for Indigenous Students – a critical resource that promotes that success of Indigenous learners and lets alumni share the experiences they enjoyed while studying at Glendon.
- Salon francophone – provides a positive and relaxed environment where students can complete their studies, connect with fellow Glendonites and improve their overall French skills.
- Adopt-a-Lion Fund – a means of supporting a specific York Lions team while providing all student-athletes with additional resources to compete at the highest possible level.
If you are interested in pledging your support to any of the projects listed above, please visit our online donation form.
