Office of the VP Academic and Provost hosts Leadership Lab, Nov. 30

The Office of the Vice-President Academic & Provost invites York community members to its inaugural Leadership Lab event on the topic of Why Should I Consider Joining a Board? The event will take place Nov. 30 starting at 5pm in the Faculty Common Room, 2027 Osgoode Hall Law School, Ignat Kaneff Building, Keele campus.

The Leadership Lab is an initiative of the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost that aims to foster connection and sharing of experiences among a diverse community of faculty and staff who are interested in developing leadership capacity – both their own and that of the University.

Events take place on campus in the late afternoon, with a short speakers program to be followed by refreshments and time to meet and talk informally (a cash bar will be available). Topics vary around a general theme of breaking down barriers and promoting inclusive leadership.

Osgoode Hall Law School Professor Poonam Puri and Yvette Munro, director of Academic Partnerships & Planning will provide opening remarks about why they have contributed their time and talents to a range of public, non-profit and private sector boards, and how you can pursue a board membership in an area that is relevant to your personal and professional interests.

All faculty and staff are welcome, and there is no charge to attend, however, as space is limited, you need to RSVP at http://tl.apps01.yorku.ca/machform/view.php?id=26088.
