Lusophone Coffee Hour (Café Lusophono) will present guest speaker Maria Joao Lopo de Carvalho on Oct. 26 on the topic of “Portuguese Female Heroines: An Overview”.

Born in Lisbon, de Carvalho is the writer of numerous children and youth books. She has also published three historic novels: Marquesa de Aloma (The Marchioness of Aloma), Padeira de Alijubarrota (The Baker of Aljubarrota), and Até que o amor me mate (Until Love Kills Me).

She will present this talk in English. All are welcome to attend this free event, and cookies will be served.

It takes place from 4 to 5:30pm at Vanier College, Room 118.
