On Oct. 14, Silver Donald Cameron will stop at York as part of his national tour promoting his new book Warrior Lawyers: From Manila to Manhattan, Attorneys for the Earth and his accompanying new documentary film Green Rights: The Human Right to a Healthy World.

The public lecture is presented as a collaboration of the Osgoode Environmental Justice & Sustainability Clinic, the JD/MES Joint Program, the Osgoode Environmental Law Society and the York Research Chair in Environmental Law & Justice and runs 1:30 to 3pm at Osgoode Hall Law School, Room 1001.

Cameron is host of TheGreenInterview.com and writer of the Green Rights project on environmental rights, and will speak about his new book and documentary film as part of a nationwide book and film tour.

silverdonaldcameronbookThe film will be screened at Heliconian Hall in Toronto at 7 pm on Oct. 12.

In his writing and filmmaking, Cameron examines how, worldwide, industries pollute and profit while politicians spin and fiddle – and the planet burns.

The law, unlike politics, is founded on fact, evidence and judgment. So a brave contingent of green lawyers now uses the law to force the changes that government and industry attempt to evade. If you believe you’re entitled to clean air, pure water and healthy food, you need to hear the voices of these warrior lawyers from around the world: passionate green knights, jousting for the future.

Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
