Speakers look at role of gender and ethnicity in well-being of women

The role of gender and ethnicity in the well-being and integration of Iranian and Afghan older adult immigrant women in Canada will be the focus of the next talk in the Women’s Mental Health and Well-Being Speaker Series.

Professor Mahdieh Dastjerdi of York’s School of Nursing, Adeena Niazi of the Afghan Women’s Organization and Afkham Mardukhi of the Iranian Women’s Organization of Ontario will discuss the research findings of their community-based study. The study is funded by the $15K Challenge Application for Project Funding at Women’s College Hospital.

The talk will be held Monday, Feb. 23, from noon to 1:30pm, at 280N York Lanes, Keele campus.

The event is organized by the Women’s Health Research Chair in Mental Health and the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health.
