Steeles Avenue West lane reductions Oct. 18 to 20

Sign saying "Road work ahead"

Beginning on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 4am and continuing until 4am on Monday, Oct. 20, Steeles Avenue West will be reduced to one lane westbound and one lane eastbound from east of Murray Ross Parkway to Founders Road for traffic bridge maintenance work. One lane will remain open westbound and one lane will remain open eastbound at all times. Due to the nature of the work, motorists and transit users may face traffic delays.

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions.

The speed limit has been reduced on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street to 40 kilometres an hour and will be strictly enforced by the Toronto Police.

Normal working hours in the City of Toronto are 7am to 7pm. However, the city has approved a noise bylaw amendment for major transit projects, which allows contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required. Extended work hours are expected to occur at Pioneer Village Station until June 2015.
