Due to necessary repairs to York University’s utility infrastructure, construction to repair a watermain began on Monday, Aug. 11 in an area situated along the west side of York Stadium and then east and north of the Sherman Health Science Research Centre. The construction will last for three weeks. Work will start at 7am and continue to 5pm each day.

  • The construction will affect the York community in the following ways:
  • Pedestrian traffic will be routed away from the immediate work area.
  • Some noise and vibration in the immediate area can be expected.

The contractor performing the work will be available at all times to assist with vehicle and pedestrian movement around the site when necessary.  Additional bulletins will be distributed as the impact on the Keele campus or the status of the project changes.

At a later date, it is expected that the construction work will affect domestic water supply to Sherman Health Science Research Centre and York Stadium. Notice of any upcoming service interruption will be circulated to the University community.

When travelling throughout the construction zone, please watch for and obey all traffic signs and or traffic control personnel for your safety and convenience.
