Steam and hot water shutdown July 31

Six-hour steam and hot water interruption on Keele campus July 31

To accommodate necessary repairs to the campus steam system, there will be a six-hour shutdown of the steam and hot water systems from 10pm on Thursday, July 31, to 4am on Friday, Aug. 1, affecting the hot water and heating steam supply to Keele campus buildings.

Buildings that have domestic hot water tanks should retain some residual heat. The following buildings, which have flash units, will not have any domestic hot water during the shutdown:

  • Tatham Hall
  • Vanier Residence
  • Winters Residence
  • Calumet Residence
  • Pond Road Residence
  • Passy Garden Apartments
  • #340 Assiniboine Road
  • Atkinson Residence

Sterilization equipment will have no steam supply during the shutdown. Domestic cold water will not be impacted.

This time has been selected to ensure minimum inconvenience to the York community.
