Traffic delays on Wednesday, Dec. 4 on Arboretum Lane

map of York University showing area affected by construction A caisson drilling rig will be delivered to the new engineering building construction site on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in preparation for shoring work along the south side of Arboretum Lane that will begin on Dec. 9. To minimize inconvenience to the University community, the delivery has been scheduled to take place between 6 and 7am.

Arboretum Lane will remain open during the delivery, but due to the size of the truck involved and the manoeuvring to get the caisson rig into the site, traffic delays can be expected.

Toronto Police, York Security and Parking staff, in addition to the contractor who will be preforming the work, will be on hand to direct all vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around the site.

Drivers who normally use Arboretum Lane for pick up and drop off purposes should use the traffic circle west of Calumet College as an alternative.

When travelling throughout the construction zone, watch for and obey all traffic signs and or traffic control personnel.
