When York University’s new intranet (YU Link) launches, employees will have access to a range of announcements and news feeds from across the University.
If you are interested in news from a particular source or sources, including Faculties, the University Libraries or other departments, you will be able to subscribe to those news feeds just by clicking a check box beside a list of sources that will appear in YU Link. The creators of YU Link know there are many sources of news that are not on the initial list that will appear in YU Link at the time of launch.
If you run a York news feed that is published as a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed, you will be able to request to have your news feed added to the list of feeds available for all employees – there will be a link within the My News section of YU Link to indicate to University Information Technology that you have a feed that should be considered for the list.

YU Link also has an area where all employees will be able to read general announcements. These announcements are seen by those people who log into YU Link and could include important updates from around the York Community. As YU Link grows and evolves, employees can expect to see more announcements.
Aggregating your news and University announcements are just two of the many advantages provided by YU Link. It offers a powerful way to connect with others, build networks within the York University community and get (and give) help to others.
