Give your mind and body a power shot after the holiday season by joining one of the Fitness Comes to You programs available during the lunch break starting this January.
There are two programs offered at York – the Fit 4 Life Employee Program at the Student Centre (Room 307, from Jan. 7 to 31, and Room 321, from Feb. 4 to April 15) and at the ELC fitness centre in the Seymour Schulich Building.
Classes for both locations will begin Jan. 7 and run until April 15. At the Student Centre, employees can sign up for everything from circuit to yoga and boot camp classes. At Schulich, circuit classes are available. Both offer flexible drop-in schedules at affordable rates, with personalized instruction by the qualified and professional staff of York Recreation.
At the Student Centre, all classes will run from 12:10pm to 1pm. See the following schedule:
- Monday, Boot Camp
- Tuesday, Circuit
- Wednesday, Yoga
- Thursday, Boot Camp
Circuit: This fun and efficient full-body workout gets your body moving, heart pumping and muscles firing by combining cardiovascular conditioning with weight training intervals. All levels are accommodated.
Yoga: An energizing class with poses that encourage alignment, flexibility, balance, strength and cardiovascular endurance and overall movement performance.
Boot Camp: A challenging, action-packed group fitness workout that makes use of everyday three-dimensional, functional movements. This fun and high-energy session will give you an incredible cardiovascular workout while overloading all the muscles and nerves of the body through various training methods, including strength and power exercises, interval training, agility drills and movements that challenge your balance and coordination.
At the Schulich ELC fitness centre, all circuit classes will run Monday to Thursday, from 12:15pm to 1:45pm.
