A campus-wide steam shutdown is required to accommodate urgent repairs to the campus steam distribution system, beginning Friday, Dec. 14 at 10pm and lasting until Saturday, Dec. 15 at 4am.
The time was selected based on low domestic hot water demand and due to the predicted weather conditions, to minimize impact to building comfort.
Buildings that have domestic hot water tanks should retain some residual heat. The following buildings, which have flash units, will not have any domestic hot water during the shutdown.
- Tatham Hall
- Vanier Residence
- Winters Residence
- Calumet Residence
- Pond Road Residence
- Passy Garden Apartments
- #340 Assiniboine Road
- Atkinson Residence
Also note that sterilization equipment will have no steam supply during the shutdown. Domestic cold water will not be impacted.
