President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri has issued this letter to the York community:
York is a fantastic university and a great place to work.
However, we have heard from members of our community that York’s workplace could be even better. As a starting point, we felt it was necessary to launch an employee engagement survey.
We would like to hear from everyone so that not only do we have reliable and accurate results, but a good sense of your sentiments about working at York. The survey will only have meaning if we have broad representation from all areas of the institution, and so I would encourage you to share the survey at all levels.
Under the direction of co-chairs Gary Brewer and Patrick Monahan and led by Suzanne Killick, the survey will be distributed to all faculty and staff in November. We have engaged an independent third-party research firm to ensure that the information provided by employees remains completely confidential and anonymous.
We are looking forward to hearing from you so that we can create a better workplace.
