Quasar gas clouds: Gone, with the wind

York physics Professor Patrick Hall is quoted in a story about a new study he was involved in as part of a team of researchers led by Penn State and involving researchers from York University. The research, published Oct. 1 in The Astrophysical Journal, reports on the team’s discovery regarding 19 distant quasars in which giant clouds of gas seemed to disappear in just a few years.
