The Ontario Fire Code requires an annual test and inspection of all fire detectors in elevator shafts. Testing will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and continues until Friday, Feb. 24. Building and Faculty administrators have been notified of the test schedules.

Test schedules are subject to change. A notification of testing will be posted where applicable. The elevator service provider will switch the elevator to maintenance service mode and will provide access to the test crew for inspection and testing. During this time, the elevator will be out of service and the expected duration will be less than 45 minutes. One elevator shaft at a time will be out of service. Note that testing may finish ahead of schedule or be delayed. During Reading Week, rescheduling may occur if the test date and time coincide with a special event.
