The York University Bookstore and the Copyright Clearance Centre invite faculty and staff to their sixth annual information session. The session is recommended for new administrative staff members who deal with textbook and course kit requisitions through the bookstore. It is also open to those looking for a refresher course on using the bookstore’s online textbook request form. Faculty, especially new faculty members, will also find this session useful. Other related subjects such as desk copies will be covered in the sessions.

This year’s session will use a set of scenarios to demonstrate the full process of course material selection. Participants will be able to follow as a faculty member meets with a sales representative, and next with administrative staff, to order textbooks online. Other topics covered include ordering course kits and the steps that textbook buyers and course kit staff must take to place orders and prepare a course kit. This year there will be two sessions, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon, offered on different dates:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 29, 10 to 11:30am, in 280 York Lanes
  • Thursday, March 1, 2 to 3:30pm, in 519 York Research Tower

All faculty and staff are welcome. For planning purposes, those interested in attending should submit their RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 23 to Michael Legris, York University Bookstore marketing & special events coordinator, at mlegris@yorku.ca or ext. 22078.

Also on offer: the Bookstore Roadshow
The Bookstore would like to accommodate individuals or groups that can’t make it to the Winter 2012 sessions or wish to discuss their department or individual requirements. The Bookstore Roadshow will be tailored to your request and Faculty. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Michael Legris.
