Accolade East Building and York Research Tower resume normal activities

All services in the Accolade East Building and York Research Tower have been restored. Normally scheduled activities were to resume in these buildings at 7am today.  Academic classes scheduled in Accolade East will proceed according to established schedules.

Community members should note that there will be several closures of portions of adjacent sidewalks and roadways in order for the University to complete fully repairs to the transformers and electrical systems of the Accolade East Building, York Research Tower, and Archives of Ontario building, necessitated as a result of the hydro feeder damage late last Thursday evening.

Areas affected will be cordoned off. They include the east-west sidewalk on the north side of Fine Arts Road south of the Accolade East Building, and the north-south sidewalk on the west side of (already closed-off) Ian Macdonald Boulevard east of the Archives of Ontario building.

Also affected will be the roadway parking areas on the north side of Fine Arts Road, which will be closed for the duration of these repairs.  Closures of these areas may continue for several weeks.

Further updates on the status of these areas will be issued to the community.
