Female community member verbally and physically assaulted

A female member of the York community was verbally and physically assaulted outside the Absinthe Pub in Winters College on York’s Keele campus at approximately 1:35am on Wednesday, April 6.

York Security and the Toronto Police Service responded to a report of an incident in which three males verbally attacked the woman outside the pub and then became physically assaultive. The woman, who defended herself and was assisted by the doorman back into the pub, was not injured. However, the suspects fled before York Security and Toronto police arrived.

York Security is assisting the Toronto Police Service in the investigation of the incident and is asking anyone who either witnessed the assault or has information about it to contact police.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect 1: East Asian male, brown skin,  24 years of age plus or minus five years, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, 141 to 154 lbs., thin build, straight black hair, black jacket with a hood, and blue jeans.
     
  • Suspect 2: South Asian male, brown skin, 24 years of age plus or minus five years, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5, 130 to 141 lbs., thin build, brown eyes, black straight hair, black pea coat and black jeans.
     
  • Suspect 3: South Asian male, brown skin, 24 years of age plus or minus five years, 6 feet to 6-foot-1, 160 to169 lbs., medium build, brown shoulder-length scraggly hair, black clothing.
