Former diplomat to give lecture on the rise of India

David Malone, a former Canadian high commissioner to India, comes to Glendon Monday to give a talk, “Rising India: Should We Care?”

Malone (right), now president of the International Development Research Centre, will talk about India’s emergence as one of the fastest growing countries in the world. Long known for its exotic cultures and widespread poverty, it now sits with the world’s most powerful nations at the G-20 table.

Oxford University Press will soon publish Malone’s monograph, Does the Elephant Dance? Contemporary Indian Foreign Policy.

Sponsoring this talk are the Glendon School of Public & International Affairs and the Centre for Global Challenges.

The lecture takes place Nov. 29 in the BMO Conference Centre, Glendon Hall, from 2:30 to 4pm. It will be in English.

To attend, RSVP to events@glendon.yorku.ca or 416-487-6727.
