Professor Emeritus Arthur Siegel of the Communication Studies Program in York’s Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) died on Wednesday, April 7, in Toronto.
A leading scholar in the field of politics and media communications policy in Canada, Prof. Siegel was instrumental in shaping York University’s Communication Studies Program, which has grown to become a full-fledged department in LA&PS.

A special memorial service for Prof. Siegel will be held on Tuesday, May 11, from 10:30am to 12:30pm, in the Scott Religious Centre on the Keele campus. Colleagues of Prof. Siegel, students and friends are invited to attend the memorial and celebrate his life an many contributions to the University.
