Family Campaign gets ready to set a new record

Family Campaign co-chairs University Professor Emeritus Ronald Pearlman and University Professor Ross Rudolph are calling on all faculty, staff and retirees to help take York to the Power of 50 over the fundraising finish line.

York University’s Family Campaign set an ambitious goal to have 2,009 participants by 2009. Supporters rose to this challenge in droves, with more than 2,220 people participating.

This year, Pearlman and Rudolph are counting on even more participants to keep the momentum going and help push the campaign over its $200-million goal. “Your participation is as important as the amount of your gift," says Pearlman. "Every contribution to our Family Campaign sends a strong, positive message to external donors. If we show how committed we are to our University, others will be committed in turn.”

Participants are invited to designate their gift to a specific area that has personal meaning to them, or to one of York’s priority needs, including student financial aid, research, athletics, classroom technologies, equal access initiatives and many other possible areas.

Some may wish to designate their donation in memory of Nancy Accinelli, a co-chair of the Family Campaign who gave so much to York University and who died suddenly on Nov. 1, 2009.

To make your gift to York’s 2010 Family Campaign, visit the online donation page, download the reply form and mail it into the York Foundation office or call the York Foundation staff at 416-650-8210 to make arrangements. A number of flexible payment options are available, including one-time gifts, monthly pledges, payroll deductions or instalments for larger donations.

Those in a position to make a gift of $1,000 or more, or who pledge $2,500 or more over time, can be recognized on a special list of Family Campaign contributors.
