In addition, the conference will provide a forum to debate new interdisciplinary, experimental and multimedia research and approaches that connect diverse literary and art theories, as well as cultural studies, history, translation and other pertinent fields.

The conference’s key speakers will include artist Marcel.lí Antúnez Roca, internationally known for his mechatronic performances and interactive installations, and Pere Salabert, a professor of esthetics and art theory at the University of Barcelona.

Since the 1980s, Antúnez Roca’s work has been characterized by his concern for the human condition. Founder of La Fura dels Baus, he was the artistic coordinator of this collective until the ’90s. His solo artistic work featuring the use of new technologies has been seen in over 30 countries.

Salabert has been a visiting professor and lecturer in many countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the United States, France and Italy. He is a member of the Catalan Association of Art Critics and the International Association of Art Critics.
