Smart eating choices at York University have been recognized by Eat Smart!, Ontario’s Healthy Restaurant Program. The Complex 2 Cafeteria, which received an Eat Smart! Award this year, is located in the basement of Stong College on York’s Keele campus.
The cafeteria was recognized by Eat Smart! for offering a variety of healthier food choices, both on the menu and by request. It was also recognized for its exceptional standards in food safety, including kitchen staff who are certified in safe food handling.

What is Eat Smart?
Eat Smart!, Ontario’s Healthy Restaurant Program, is an exclusive program that awards Ontario restaurants that meet high standards in food safety, nutrition and non-smoking seating. Toronto Public Health participates in this provincial program in association with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario and the Canadian Cancer Society. In Toronto, restaurants that display the Eat Smart! sign receive the Eat Smart! Award of Excellence on an annual basis.
