York is participating in the 20-Minute Toronto Makeover

York is once again participating in the City of Toronto’s 20-Minute Toronto Makeover this coming Friday.

To join in the cleanup, York community members are asked to meet at one of five designated meeting spots at 2pm on Friday, April 24. Participants will then pick up litter in and around their meeting location.

The five meeting areas are as follows:

  • The entrance to the York Library Lot DD to clean up Stong Pond and area
  • The north doors of the East Office. Building for the Boyer Woodlot and area
  • The Student Service Parking Garage southeast entrance for the Boynton Woods and area.
  • The Physical Resources Building visitor’s parking lot for the Danby Woods and area.
  • The Gatehouse at the entrance to the Glendon campus.

See the map for meeting locations on the Keele campus.

Participants will receive gloves and a litter bag along with a coupon for Las Nubes sustainable coffee to recognize their participation in the cleanup.

The makeover is in celebration of Earth Day and York’s commitment to campus sustainability. In keeping with this goal, approximately 100 native species of trees will be planted in the Arboretum. For more earth-friendly initiatives, visit the Yorkwise Web site.
