All-party dialogue tomorrow focuses on health and health care

With voting day just over a week away, come and hear tomorrow, Oct. 8, where the major parties stand on two issues largely ignored during this federal election campaign – health and health care.

From 4 to 6pm in 109 Accolade West Building, Toronto Star columnist Carol Goar moderates an all-party dialogue featuring the following candidates:

  • Carolyn Bennett (right), a doctor and long-standing Liberal MP for St. Paul’s, Toronto
  • Olivia Chow (below right), New Democratic Party MP for Trinity-Spadina, Toronto
  • Steven Fletcher, Conservative Party MP for Charleswood–St. James–Assiniboia, Manitoba
  • Blake Poland, Green Party hopeful in Oakville

They will discuss their positions on Canada’s health-care system and access to health care, and on poverty and the environment, both of which have an impact on health.

The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario and York University’s Faculty of Health invited the parties to explain, particularly to young people, how a vote for their candidates would advance healthy outcomes and promote a healthier Canada.
