York has decided to take Burton Auditorium out of service as a performance facility on the basis of the University’s concern about a potentially unsafe condition related to the rigging in the auditorium chamber and stage areas in the building.
As a result of this potential health and safety issue, access to areas in and around Burton Auditorium will be restricted until further notice. Appropriate signage and barriers have been installed.
The auditorium is located adjacent the Centre for Film & Theatre on York’s Keele campus.
