Naguib Gouda stepping down as executive director, Alumni & Advancement Services

President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri issued this announcement yesterday:

With reluctance and deep regret I have accepted the resignation of Naguib Gouda as executive director of Alumni & Advancement Services, effective Jan. 25, 2008. Naguib is leaving York to become executive director, professional services, at the Ontario Medical Association.

This is a terrific career opportunity for Naguib, and I wish him every success in this new position. The OMA’s gain is our loss; Naguib is a highly skilled communicator whose work has transformed the relationship between York and its more than 200,000 alumni.

Right: Naguib Gouda (MBA ’84)

Since his appointment in 2004, Naguib has transformed the Alumni Board, overseen the modernizing and streamlining of data collection and management, increased alumni participation and strengthened the bonds between the University and its largest constituency.

The University is working on an interim arrangement until a permanent replacement can be found.

Please join me in wishing Naguib all the best in this next step in his career.
