Former Faculty of Graduate Studies dean appointed master of Calumet College

Professor David Leyton-Brown has been appointed to the position of master of Calumet College for a five-year term commencing July 1. The announcement was made by Robert Tiffin, York vice-president students.

Leyton-Brown is a professor in York’s Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, and has been a member of the York faculty since 1975. Leyton-Brown has broad experience across the University – as a longtime Fellow of McLaughlin College, in the York Centre for International & Security Studies, on York’s Senate and Senate committees, and as associate dean (1988 to 1992) and dean (1992 to 1999) of York’s Faculty of Graduate Studies. For the past eight years he has been seconded from York as executive director of the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies.

Leyton-Brown has written extensively in the areas of Canada-United States relations, Canadian and US foreign and defence policies, the politics of international trade and investment, and academic quality assurance.
