Alumni Office launches new car rental discount program

Members of the York community can now take advantage of lower rates for car rentals. The York University Alumni Office has negotiated a significant new discount program for cars rented across Canada and the United States through Hertz. The discount, which ranges from a low of 10 per cent to a high of 45 per cent depending on the particular rental day,  is made possible through a unique combination of Hertz’s corporate rate and best leisure rate programs.

To mark the official start of the Hertz program, the Alumni Office is offering the program to all members of the York community. “Faculty and staff can take advantage of the same benefits as alumni. If you need to rent a car, truck or van, you can get a significant rental discount through this program,” said James Allan (left), York’s director, alumni.

As an added benefit, car rentals can be booked online through a new automated process that will be made available later this spring on the York Alumni Web site. The service will provide a one-stop form for shopping, said Allan. Hertz membership cards, needed at vehicle pickup, are available from the Alumni Office.

In addition to the Hertz program, York’s Alumni Office has established relationships with carefully selected companies to provide its membership with valuable discounts, quality products and services. A portion of every purchase is returned to the University to help fund student and alumni programs. To celebrate the launch of the Hertz program, York University faculty and staff can now take advantage of any of the opportunities offered through the Alumni Office.
