Anne-Marie Wall of York’s LaMarsh Centre dies at 41

Anne-Marie WallAnne-Marie Wall, a professor in York’s Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, passed away suddenly on Dec. 8 after being admitted to Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre with respiratory difficulties. She died that evening of rapid viral pneumonia. A memorial mass is being held this morning at Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Pouch Cove, Nfld.

Prof. Wall, 41, was an associate of York’s LaMarsh Centre for Research on Violence and Conflict Resolution where she was a member of the Child and Youth Violence Research Group. She specialized in studying substance abuse and its impact on youths and their families. Born in St. John’s, Nfld., and a former resident of Riverview, NB, Wall was the daughter of the late Terence and Thelma (Sullivan) Wall of Pouch Cove.
