All-Canadian running back Andre Durie, All-Canadian defensive end Ricky Foley, OUA All-Star receiver Ricardo Hudson and offensive lineman Claudio Tulipano were selected to represent York in the game, which will be televised live on TSN.

The East West Bowl, in partnership with the NFL and CFL, is designed as a showcase for athletes entering their CFL draft year in 2006 but the rosters have been complemented with players entering into their second, third and fifth years who have not yet been drafted.

A national committee of CIS head coaches selected the players who were first nominated by their respective teams. All 27 CIS football schools will be represented in the game, with a minimum of three athletes selected from a list of six nominees from each university.

The objective of the East West Bowl is to showcase future CFL stars to scouts, coaches and fans through a week of practice, testing and evaluation that culminates in the East West Bowl game where the players get to compete on a national stage against the CIS’s best.
