Lions host Killer Instinct volleyball classic

The 26th annual Killer Instinct Excalibur Volleyball Classic begins at York University’s Tait McKenzie Centre on Friday, Jan. 7, kicking off the second half of the men’s volleyball season.


The eight-team tournament boasts five of the top six teams from Ontario University Athletics (OUA), the number two and three teams from the Quebec Student Sports Federation (QSSF), as well as the Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).

The Lions, ranked number one in Ontario and eighth in Canada, will open the tournament against the Queen’s Golden Gaels. The Lions are the only undefeated team in the OUA.


The tournament begins at 1pm on Friday, Jan. 7, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 9, when the championship final is set for 3pm. Tournament passes can be purchased onsite.
