The Lions women’s soccer team extended its winning streak to three games with weekend victories over Brock and McMaster (both teams were previously undefeated). Ashley DePalma and Meghan Smith scored as York blanked Brock University 2-0 on Saturday. On Sunday, DePalma scored her seventh goal of the season and goalkeeper Aurelia Gumiela recorded her third straight shutout as the Lions defeated McMaster University 1-0. York sits in first place in the OUA North Division with a record 4-1-1.

The Lions football team scored 35 straight points in the second-half to overcome a 34-10 third-quarter deficit. They slipped past the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 45-41 in the 35th annual Red & Blue Bowl. With the win, York improves to 2-2 on the season. The Lions will host Queen’s University on Oct. 2 at York Stadium.

The York Lions field hockey team recorded two wins and a tie in three weekend games. After a 1-1 draw with Carleton University, the Lions blanked both McGill and Queen’s by a score of 1-0.
