The following announcement is from York President and Vice-Chancellor Lorna R. Marsden:
With the arrival of the Director of Alumni, one of the main users of the Advancement Services database together with the York University Foundation, I have decided that in order to achieve maximum organizational effectiveness, the department of Advancement Services will be transferred from the Vice-President Finance and Administration to work more closely with the Alumni division.
The new division of Alumni & Advancement Services, with Naguib Gouda as Executive Director, will report to the Office of the President.
I would like to thank Vice-President Gary Brewer for his leadership of the department over the past two years.
The transition will become effective March 1, 2004.
