York symposium to examine science and internationalization

York’s Office of the Associate Vice-President International will host a symposium on Science & Internationalization, to take place Thursday, Feb. 5-6, in the Seymour Schulich Building on the Keele campus.

This symposium is a part of the AVP International’s Strategic Plan for the Internationalization of York University. Science and internationalization has been identified by the University as a “signature” initiative.

Following the success of last year’s Language & Internationalization Symposium, the Science & Internationalization Symposium is being organized as a way to explore new paradigms for fields of study, rethink curricular issues, and discuss meaningful ways that science and engineering students at York can be involved in internationalization.

The symposium’s program will feature a variety of Canadian and international presenters speaking on topics ranging from science and international development to international curriculum models and approaches.

The York Science & Internationalization Symposium is offered at no cost. However, registration is required by Monday, Feb. 2. For more information, please visit the symposium Web site.
