A cornucopia of great eats for the United Way

Banish the brown bag blues during the week of Nov. 17 to 21: for less than $5 a day you can eat well and support the United Way. From hot soup to baked goods, York will be offering a cornucopia of great food to tempt your palate.

A cup of fresh soup beats a peanut butter sandwich any day. Why not enjoy a cup of soup from Central Square? For just $2 you can enjoy vegetarian or non-vegetarian soup and a crusty roll. The cup of soup sale is hosted by the Offices of the President, Vice-Presidents, University Secretary & General Counsel and the York University Foundation. The soup has been donated by Petal Foods (Michaelangelo’s).

If you have the munchies, the Student Affairs United Way Popcorn Sale has been rescheduled to the week of Nov. 17 to 21. For $1, you can support the United Way and enjoy a bag of freshly popped popcorn. The sale takes place in the East Bear Pit in Central Square.

To top off a week of soup and popcorn, the Atkinson Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale for the United Way will take place on Nov. 20 in the Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson College from 11:30am to 2:30pm. You can purchase baked goods, shop for holiday gift baskets and view a wide array of handcrafted items and crystal jewelry.
