Forum probes Canada’s dilemma over the Bush doctrine

Should Canada buy into the Bush doctrine? Do we have a choice? With other speakers, Professor Daniel Drache (left), associate director of York’s Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, will address these issues at a public forum sponsored by York University’s Centre for International & Security Studies (YCISS). The forum will take place on Thursday, Nov. 13, 7:30 to 9:30pm, at the Marriott Eaton Centre, 525 Bay St., Toronto.

Other speakers include Barbara McDougall, president and CEO of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs, Stephen Clarkson, professor of political science at the University of Toronto, and Paul Mitchell, associate director of academics at the Canadian Forces College.

The evening’s discussion is one in a series of YCISS events on “Contemporary Dilemmas in Canadian Security”. YCISS is a research centre at the University and a Department of National Defence Security and Defence Forum Centre of Excellence, taking an expansive view of the nature of security in the contemporary world.
