Our kids came to work

Among the rank and file of York employees on Wednesday, Nov. 5, were more than 50 Grade 9 students participating in Take Our Kids to Work Day. After arriving with their parents in the morning, they gathered for an orientation session presented by the Admissions/Liaison staff about university study and York programs and then got a full tour of the campus. Then they — along with their parents — were treated to pizza at the Atkinson cafeteria before heading back to the “office” for the afternoon.

The day was coordinated by the Office of the Vice-President, Finance & Administration, the Department of Human Resources & Employee Relations and the Admissions & Recruitment Office.

Take Our Kids to Work Day is an annual event that this year involved 75,000 workplaces across Canada hosting more than 400,000 Grade 9 students.
