York’s new signs win prizes

Two types of York’s new signage – the primary entrance signs and the map directories – have each captured first prize in their categories at the annual Canadian Sign Show this year.

The displays were entered in the Canadian signmakers’ competition by A.tec Signs, which  manufactured the new red, white and black signs, with Kramer Design Associates, which designed them. A.tec won five awards altogether, the most prizes of any Canadian signmaker this year.

The Sign Association of Canada presents awards in 10 categories to recognize Canadian signmakers who have achieved excellence. It offers two awards per category – a premier award and an award of merit. Companies are allowed to submit a maximum of two entries per category.

York’s primary entrance sign won top prize in the category of freestanding signs and roof signs. The map directory sign won premier award for best commercial sign.
