Preparation underway for new academic buildings

Get set to see two new general academic buildings take shape on the Keele campus. Preparation is underway around the site where the buildings – GAB east and GAB west – will rise on the southern face of the University’s Harry W. Arthurs Common, on the west side of Burton Auditorium and on the east side of the Centre for Film & Theatre.

The transplanting of existing trees has finished, and work is now in progress to install the hoarding that will enclose the east and west construction sites.

As the site is closed off, appropriate safety and directional signage will be put in place to assist those people who will have to find alternative routes to their destinations.

This phase of the work is expected to last for two to three weeks, and will be followed soon after by the start of excavation operations.

Further information bulletins will be posted as the project continues. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Muddy@fbo.yorku.ca.
